My old diamondback hack... (dont mention the colour)

Started life as a ?1994? Sorrento with alivio/acera-x/altus, its been fitted with all sorts of cast offs and rubbish left over.

When I started doing up my oranges and RTS/LTS, I also began picking up random spares and parts, this is the result. I know it doesnt match, and purple and yellow is a mess, but Im not respraying it as its got its original gray paint.

Looks terrible but I love it. And it rides lovely. Slow and laid back, comfy as a clunker.

Spec in brief - full LX/mavic 230on Pulstar hubs/atac stem/use post/titec riser/ules and roadie saddle





Even the howies and animal stickers are original old 90s jobs

Do you remember the altus sti's, with the round dial to tell you the gear?

Excellent. Broke the original BB learning to bunny hop, bent the acera x cranks trying to tabletop... Ah the days

Sorry tho cce, this is one is a keeper. Mine since 1995 and staying that way. Sentimental etc.

i chewed three of those BB's to death inside 6 months, the STIs were eventually swapped for some STX-RCs

let's see if i can remember the final spec before i callously tore it apart to build a zaskar frame with the bits, and used it for painting practice
