wow...what a makeover.

It looks great. Is there a reason why you went with the later XT crankset, as opposed to the m730 stuff found on the rest of the bike?

If you need a clean 730, I might be able to help you out there ;)

again...beautiful looking Ultra.

It is temporary. I will probably change the handlebar too. I have a period correct crank somewhere in storage. I just couldn't wait to ride it and cranks are easy to swap out. It's dirt debut will be tomorrow but todays urban ride helped get it dialed in. It is sooo quick! Nimble too. I can't wait to see how it climbs.

That really is sweet!
Have you had much experience with King headsets on rigid mtb? Do they stay adjusted any longer than others that you've used? I'm wondering whether or not I should swap out my logic for one...

 fantastic make over, that really is sumptuous. proper job.

Wow, as i've just started my first '80's period resto I have a new found admiration and understanding of the work that has gone into that.

To be honest this is the first rigid mtb I have had one on and I have never had a threaded one. I had trouble finding a vintage headset so I just said screw it and got a new one. I got sick of waiting.
