1993 Marin Palisades Trail

Retro Newbie
I bought this bike back in 1993, but have not really used it over the last few years. Its had a dust down and is rolling again. I had Manitou forks fitted when new but removed them recently to replace the worn elastimers with new springs.

Welcome to the slippery slope that is Retrobike. Better watch out, if you catch the virus that is rampant on here you're in for a ride.

That's a very distinctive Marin your posting here, I remeber them well from bitd (typically above my budget then). It looks a fine rider too.

Enjoy!!

Yeah! :D

This was my first 'real' bike (mine was 15") I still think this is one of the all-time best paint jobs that ever graced an MTB

Thanks for posting these pics. I've still got my 1993 Palisades Trail (13.5"), and it's still the toughest bike I've ever owned. The frame is not the right size for me, but I just bought a long seat post and dealt with it all the years I couldn't afford a better bike. Now that I've got two other bikes that fit me perfect, I'm just too damn sentimental to get rid of her. It's a great stealth bike that no one understands the value of.

ye i had one of these too and with the manitous, it ended up getting nicked out of my mates garage!!

was a great bike.
