Last thread on this was too long and confusing to resurrect.

Now, finished at last .... from this

To THIS

Frame 95 ParkPre ProElite Titanium re-decalled as 97 model.
Inspiration heavily drawn from Christophe Sauser's team model but without the Syncros (never a fan, sorry Syncros freaks). I wanted to come up with something different as there are 2 tricked-out Pro Elites on the site already.

Fork: Marzocchi Z2 Superfly (98) (period upgrade - Factory spec was Rock Shox or Manitous, no thanks)
Headset: Cane Creek cartridge Ahead (Period upgrade)
Stem: Control Tech 130mm (Period Upgrade)
Handlebar: Titec Ti. (Period Upgrade)
Grips: Dunno what they are....
Barends: X-Lite Stubbie Pro (Period upgrade)
Brakes: XT M739 V-brakes (Factory Spec)
Brake Pads: Shimano Ceramic (Period necessity for wheelset)
Brake Cables: Shimano
Brake Levers: XT M739 NOS (Factory Spec)
Shifters: XT-M739 (Factory Spec)
Front Derailleur: XT-M739 (Factory Spec)
Rear Derailleur: XTR M953 (98 model - period upgrade)
Derailleur Cables: Shimano
Cassette: XTR M950 NOS (Factory spec)
Chain: CN-HG70 (new)
Cranks/Bolts/rings etc: XTR-M951 (Factory Spec)
Bottom Bracket: XTR-M950 (Factory spec)
Pedals: SPD-M737 (Factory spec)
Wheels:Mk 1 Crossmax with Road rear Skewers: (Quintessential period upgrade - but not enamoured - would consider swap for another wheelset. Would prob. be OK if I still weighed under 60kg... Anyone?)
Tyres: Wildgripper Sprint rear/"Front" front. (Period upgrade, for me at least)
Tubes: GEAX
Saddle: Original 97 Fizik Pave (Period Upgrade)
Seatpost: Thomson Elite (Modern but still "period" upgrade)
Seatpost Binder: Dunno. (But better looking than the original - and still period)
Weight:10,5kg/23lbs

Had big problems getting the backing paper off the decals - so top tube decal is not straight....
Thanks as ever to Gil for the decals.

Spent 75km getting to know this bike a bit better today....

The wheels are probably going to have to go. They are all over the place when under heavy pedalling load. Change of tyres to the Sprint semislick/folders was a good thing though....

Fork still needs dialling in. Even with default pressure rating for my weight, it's way too hard. Suspect it's the oil in there from a previous owner.

But it's comfy, it's stable, it's fast as f..k and I love it to bits.

Took the X-Lite bar ends off as will use them on a Pace. Fitted Profiles instead.

Will be fitting black King No-threadset when I get the right bottom race.

oh, that's nice. I've heard of Parkpre. Wasn't one a feature in an erly mbuk magazine. Back when they did features on sponsored riders rigs.
