Schwinn Paramountain

Repack Rider

Senior Retro Guru
Wool jerseys and retro bikes are popular on the annual Thanksgiving Day ride that I posted on in the Event section. I prefer wool jerseys to retro equipment myself, but Eric Jones showed up for the ride with this mint condition hand-built Schwinn Paramountain, down to an actual Stumpjumper tyre.

Eric's father Holland Jones owned a bicycle shop in San Francisco during the '70s and '80s and was a member of the Rough Stuff Fellowship. Eric's first tattoo was a Campagnolo logo.

Since this, like every other MTB from the '80s, is a copy of the Ritchey, you're right

It's a limited production hand made frame. I should have asked Eric for the year, but from the component group it's around 1983-84.

obviously
it wont be as much use or fun(do they still do fun?) as a modern bike
you just have to watch the new pisher vid to see what we're missing

The bar looks pretty much like the (Renthall) motorcross we mounted on our bikes as kid about 10-12 years ago.

RR, nice ride!

With a Syncros shim it works fine. I also use such a shim on my Sunn NK Trial bar. A bar almost as undestructable, but it weighs a ton.
