As the frame has turned up I have decided to start this rolling and add to it as the build progresses. This may or may not be of interest to anyone, but it will serve to keep me on track as I work through the restoration of my 1995 Explosif.

Frame: Kona Explosif, 1995 Columbus Max OR
Resprayed Metallic green a'la 1996 Explosif by Argos.

Stem: Control Tech 130 x 0 rise
Handlebar: Bontrager Titec*

Barends: Dunno, maybe.

Brakes: Either XT canti or Logic canti. TBC*
Brake Pads: Kool stop

:LOL: I do agree with you, but the Q21's could have been a substitiute if I could not find P2's big enough for my 20" frame. :D
 
First pics.

Frame is going in to Argos once decals have been sourced, probably next month.

NOS Kona grips and a boxed but used Control Tech stem.

I have just been checking the frame over and flicked off a couple of areas of loose paint and there are 3 rust holes in the chainstay on the drive side.

The problem is I really wanted this build to work out. So now I am looking for another 20" Explosif.

I agree that's bad news, but Argos can easily fix it for you. Chainstay and bridge in Reynolds 725, supplied and fitted for £75. Must make more sense than scrapping that fine frame.
