No advantage whatsoever, just wondered if it could be done with normal bits and pieces. Raced this bike at Beastway (RIP) dressed as a wizard 2002. All good fun.
 
How did you deal with the pedals - did you just swap a rh axle for an lh?

Are there probs with the pedal loosening itself if you did?
 
Pedal forwards for one gear, backwards for another. I know a guy who used a similar system to do the PBP on one (inside the time limit) - and it was a 1920's bike that weighed all-up around 40lb.
 
Bontyfiend, yes I did swap pedal axels. getting two different "SPD" pedals out of my bits box with the same axel proved eventful. More interesting still was switching the freewheel around on the (traditional) non-drive side. Fixed wheel would have just been too easy!

Anyone else get a soaking riding to work today?
