RC35 Forks are in need of new elastomers/rocker and a longer steerer
Ringle Zooka Stem was a bugger to get out - but out it did come
M737 Headset is usable.

But none of it's going to be used on the build.

Am following the 97 spec build sheet from parkpre.com (another shameless plug) with some period "upgrades" but nothing too poncey as that's not my style.

The standard spec -
M950 XTR rear mech, chainset and BB
M739 Front mech, shifters, v-s and levers

The upgrades
Crossmax mark 1
M950 12-32 cassette
Wildgripper Lite green tyres
Thomson Elite post
Black 135mm Control tech stem
titec ti bars
Fizik Pave saddle
Marzocchi 98 Z3 lite/98 Z2 BAM/99 Z2Superfly
Headset Cane Creek (Cartridge)
pedals - cheated and fitted M515 pedals which are dead ringers for M747...

The cheats
Thomson Elite seatpost. New. Classic. Why not?
Rear QR from later model Mavic Road wheel.
M952 arms fitted with NOS M952 middle and granny - but used 950 big ring...
M515 pedals - dead ringers for M747 pedals.
HG70 chain - Tried to find a HG90 lately?
Next step - finalise decals
Waiting for stem and 2 pairs of forks.
rear mech is a M952 not and M950... But nothing a pair of 8 speed jockeys won't fix....
New ceramic brake rubbers for M970.

Nothing wrong with a shameless website plug! ;)

Very nice, excellent component choice too, the seatpost clamp is an original PFR one by the look of it :D

Still in a quandry about the decals though....

There's next to no info available about this brand. But from what I can ascertain, this is a 95 frame and decals.

For 97 should it be this type?

Correct for 1996 - 1997

Earlier decals are like this:

Yeah the 95 decals are what I have now.

Just wrong for the build. Frame itself can't be that different.

Should be able to work something out for the top tube decals - but the great unknown is seat tube and head tube decals. Any ideas?

Well the quest for decals is turning into quite the detective task.

Reki? Do you have hard copy of the 96 catalog? I think a lot of the lettering might be in it.

Various decals can be on seat tube above bottle mounts:

Hope this helps

Nope.. found all them on the wonderful parkpre.com already.

More googling found these images though
1151-big.jpg

Gives idea of font and placement of decals

1154-big.jpg

Gives idea of seat tube decal coloring (text is a big unknown obviously)

parkpreframe_003_lg.jpg

Great basis for the head badge.

Now just stuck waiting for chainset spares, mechs, headset, fork, bars and brakes to arrive.....

And finding it hard to find the time to
1) get the decals planned out and negociated....

2) prep the frame..

And big difficulties finding a suitable stem...... Anyone?????
