Just got my hands on a tidy GT Tequesta from 1997.

As you can see its a nice red to black flame paintjob, covering a cro-mo frame.

It arrived with rigid forks, but I'm trying the Indy C's first.

Plan is to try singlespeed with this bike over winter, so I am hoping to have the build done in time for the Christmas Cannock meet on the 28th December.

We'll see how it pans out.

17/1/09 - finished, pics added.

If I dont like this SS malarky I may move it on.......

Hold tight Pickle, nice avatar!

Anyhow got a soft spot dor these later GTs.

Nice basis for a trial SS project. Skip the indys though and go rigid. You'll not regret it.

I recognize that frame!!! ;)

Did you notice the shop sticker at the top ot the down tube? Is that a German or Dutch shop?

Anyhow, should look uber cool as a SS, looking forward to the finished article.

Thanks for the comments chaps ;)

My plans now are:
➡️ black original GT flip-flop stem on way
➡️ re-fit original black rigid forks
➡️ fit SS kit (on way) to SPIN rear wheel
➡️ black 26.8 post on way

At the moment I am undecided on tyre and saddle choice :?

Update: Frame cleaned and polished, LX V's fitted, LX cranks fitted with single 32t chainring.

It's coming together well, are you using this one for the Cannock ride next week and what gearing you are using for rear? 16T sound ideal on 32T for off road riding depending how rough and hilly is Cannock is.

I liked the red fading to black on frame, red stem is good choice, maybe red bars and black seatpost to finish it off.

BTW, go rigid on single speed! :xmas-cool:
