my first mountain bike was a Diamond Back... would love another one (but have no room). Does this mean you aren't still looking for an 18 inch '95 Vertex TA?

Sorry I can't help you there, I'd really like one of their WCF or TT-lite short butted steel frames or even a Ti one (I had the opportunity to bid on Cadel Evans' team Ti after he'd just ridden in Australian Champs on it back in 96 or 97(?) just before he moved to Cannondale but it was too small for me so I let it go - lovely buttercup yellow colour it was too - I can't remember how much it sold for but I believe it wasn't all that much).

No room in the shed at the moment for anything new, though Geoff at FirstFlight Bikes has a Vertex TR frame in my size that I check on every once in a while, but it's on the other side of the Pacific Ocean and our exchange rate has just fallen through the floor so there are lots of reasons not to buy it!
