Santa Cruz Bullit & Mountain Goat Joule

These are my everyday bikes. 2000 Santa Cruz Bullit and 1995 Mountain Goat Joule. I've never really considered them 'retro' and they're certainly not 'project' bikes but I've lost count of the people who laugh at me for still running V-brakes on a Bullit!

I bought the Bullit as a robust 'cross country with some mucking about' bike after snapping a Voodoo Canzo ESP on a BMX track (a case of too much ambition, not enough talent and really poor timing).

The Mountain Goat has been a race bike, a hardtail fun bike, stolen, recovered, and now built as a commuting bike (not that I ever actually get around to commuting on it).

Rich.

Aha, there she is! I know its a full suss and one still in production now but pretty retro now. I do love Disc brakes now, only sticking with rim brakes on retro's now.

Here's mine, I gather its a 2002 but I have honestly no idea! :D

With a Fox TC shock it'll be an 01 as SC did not offer the 02 onwards frame with this shock

Acid test for 02 onwards is 5th Element shock and ability to run a 205 rear hope / hayes on a conventional 135 disk hub, if not it's an 01 where on a conventional hub a 185 disk will rub.........

Looks a lot like my own 01 which started life as black.....
