New boy here. Early 90s King with Campag MTB groupset, 26's, beefy fork crown, ST tubing. Happy tours, lovely handling.

Thanks for the comments. I even contemplated selling it earlier in the year, with kids it doesn't see the expeditions it deserves any more. Couldn't do it. Just weekends with a tent at the moment.

Hope I can still find Campag 8 when the present block goes south.

You could always add new spacers to a Campag road 9 cassette and ditch a sprocket.

That'll be the way to go then. The dt levers and derailleurs are made for 8 I believe.

The only issue to remember is that the cable pull per click changed for 2001 so you need pre-2001 rear mechs, but these will be fine with 9s.
