I'd build it and ride it. Such a lovely mtb such waste to just collect dust. Cycles are to be ridden Statues for dust.

I was going to say "Ride it!!" , but now I've seen that photo of your other one I can see your quandary...
I dunno, it's a thing of beauty, I think it really should be built and ridden.

 what!, how?, where? and many other questions

Well, always going to have mixed responses to this dilemma. Now i am one for riding bikes, thats why mine are far from NOS so i can enjoy them. I have owned a couple of brand new bikes in my life and was always concerned about damage etc, after a while that wears off and it just becomes another mtb :)

If it was me and i had both i would deffinatly save the other and try to preserve it as a peice of history. Then again if i only had the NOS frame i would still probably want to preserve it as is.

If you can afford to keep it as a frame then do it, you will only regret it in years to come. and if it bothers you that much you can build it up when your other cracks

People are always trying to restore and collect bikes to preserve the history of our passion, you cant get a better example of that frame than the one you have, maybe even the only NOS one left

Re:

There are at least 3 NOS ones afaik, some built up but unridden. Shame its not a M/L or id be interested ;) V bad market to sell it right now so best to keep it until it picks up again or hang it over the mantelpiece.

Theres another debate right there :)

To me NOS means new, untouched, if its built up then its not NOS any more and if you took it apart it would surely have marks, new condition maybe but not NOS :)

Re:

You could say its a total virgin and once a single part has penetrated her (ie) headset, bottom bracket its lost forEVER never to have again

But it will never be sold ,no need

Re:

Some of the campagnolo stuff i have for it
