1992 Rocky Mountain Stratos

Retro Guru
This will be my first build thread on the forum
I'm not tech savvy as yet so this is a general test uploading photos,

I bought this project from Ebay in December
Its a 1992 Rocky Mountain Stratos frame, 20" with the original Ritchey
headset and Tange Big forks , i won it for £10.00

I didn't really have a plan other to sling some parts on it and ride it, till it fails. Seller was Cranks in Brighton a local bike co-op
the seller assured me that the frame was crack free .
This is a much hated beer can frame prone to seat and head tube cracks.
7000 tubing .

This Frame has a amazing patina but i wanted to look for cracks
so out came the wall paper scrapper .
I imagine the previous owner lived on the South coast as it looks like the the frame has had a salty environment.[[im...r.com/1821/42388609364_f6cb9310b6_z.jpg[/img]rocky mountain stratos 92, dec17 028 by Wholly Spokes, on Flickr/url]

No Cracks dints repairs hmmm lets crack on.

So for me this project has been a rolling one .
Parts have come and gone .
And i've a list of bits i'm obsessing over .
but i've fallen in love with this bike its not harsh as i imagined
its turning into a favorite rider
been day dreaming whether to get it power coated and new decals

I really like that, great that you went with a frame you weren’t sure about but at £10 who could say no :)

I’d certainly consider a new finish and decals from Gil, especially as you enjoy the ride. Presume she’s a keeper so why not.

thought it might of fallen apart by now . as it was a throw away frame really..
