1989 Mantis Valkyrie

Haaland

Retro Guru
I had this one since august but haven't had the parts yet to complete it.

Originally bought by Mark Bolish (Nuke Proof) in 1989. S/N VK 2011, and raced in Moab and Boulder in the 1990 WC. Might be THE bike for me as I really love the quirkiness and the experimental form-follows-function style of it. Maybe I want a X-frame even more, not sure ;)

He sent me some pictures of it that showed the different iterations, and the bike have had some different colors. All painted by Mark himself. The current blue/purple is also painted by Mark, but I recently painted the fork crown black and changed the decals from white to black.

Looking forward to finish it!

love it. Certainly different. Love the colour. Classy build

Re:

Personally, I prefer the white decals, but that's me. It's still lovely with the black ones.

Stunning bike and buildup Bjørnar ! Normally I doesn't like blue bikes so much, but yours is lovely in that color!

Re:

Nice. I love these. Will have to get my build going one day.
Do you have a 2nd one of these in getting painted by Toxik Harald?

Maybe, Roy ;)

Yes, I have a second one as well. Long time project I guess. Have you seen it at Toxic?

Re:

It’s a beauty, but then every bike you build is! Where do you find all the awesome parts? I am not so lucky in my searches in the UK.
