This has now been completed
Purchased the complete bike in August but it needed the P2 Fork and some small original bits
Pretty happy with the build and the ride!

XT thumb shifters would be nicer, I agree, but they are quite the same with DX. In their philosophy, I remember that Kona prefered thumbshifters than rapidfire and a lot of high range bikes got some DX thumb instead of XT

Yes in 95 suntour XC PRO thumbies were an option instead of the grip shift x-ray according to the 95 catalogue
