I have had this a while, I have no idea what it is, it rides nicely and I have been enjoying razzing around on it. The tubing is steel and seems quite thin, and it has a fetching twist effect. The frame number is YC97L00063.

Any suggestions welcome from you knowledgeable lot.
Thanks

Looks like Tange spiral tubing. (I forget it proper name)

Have a look at Checker Pig and Merlin (as in Merlin Cycles UK) of that era and see if anything looks similar, they used that tubing iirc.

Yeah, I like the way it looks. Top tube and down tube are twisted tubing.
I was thinking Merlin (uk) personally, will have another look.

I had a nickel plated version of this that was a Merlin, including the Rich tea drop outs.

*Heres a bigger Merlin with the Spiral Tribe toobs - note the cable routing

To my eye that top tube looks a bit too sloped for a Merlin. If it wasn't for the twisty tubes I'd say it was a Rocky Mountain or KHS.
