Rebuild of 1995 GT Pantera

Dirt Disciple
After stupidly selling my 99 Zasker LE in Cosmic Sunrise, I thought I'd never go back to older bikes as the curret n + 2 should be enough.

However a swap with my dad brought me back my first real MTB that I had given him around 15 years ago (as I was using the Zaskar).

I stripped it down to a frameset and it's been hanging in the garage for about 8 months or so.

Was a little bored this morning so thought I'd build it back up with a spares bucket and see how it rides as a commuter and light XC.

Started with the frame that had an older XT crankset fitted.

Then built up to what it is now.

Spec is .

95 Pantera 18" frame
99 (ish) RST Mozo Pro forks. (80mm, twin Englund air cartridges - very light)
XT crankset + UN72 btm bracket
Mavic 221 rims with GT suspension front hub and LX rear.
Michelin XC tyres
One one twelvty seat post and clamp
WTB Rocket saddle
Old XTR rear mech
8 speed Sachs wavy shifters
LX 11 to 28 8sp cassetts
Sram chain
Avid 1.9L brake levers
New ish bottom of the run Shimano V brake calipers
Carbon cycles cheapy bars.
Random bar ends
Titus stem.
M520 pedals

So far the gear cables need changing, front mech needs sourcing and fitting and the rear brake needs sorting.

The gear hanger is also nearly stripped so a new one is needed before it is ridden in anger (hope they are still available)

All in all weighs 12Kg as is so not too bad.

Will get it finished and see how it rides before deciding whether to strip it down to parts and leave the frame as a nostalgic piece in the garage - or sell the boardman cyclo cross thing and use this as its replacement.

Comments of course welcome :D
