I've been looking forward to getting these builds started for a while now,but i've not had that moment when it clicks and you get a picture in your head of how they may turn out, until now :)
Saying i got a rare chance to get them outside in that rare thing called the sun today,i was able to see how they could look.
Especially for the Peugeot one part will change the whole look of the bike, the hard part will be finding the correct size part but finding it will be worth it.

Here's a couple of pictures of them, this should be fun :D

wicked...tell us some more about the kili

I've got a few ideas i've wanted to try for a while regarding restoring some of the parts for the build, like the XT seatpost and pedals and also the Deore ll chainset. The parts what you see on the bike are sort of the first draft of my ideas for it but like most of my builds as they progress it can all change in an instance
As for the Killi fuselage it's yet to be stripped down for cleaning to see what it's like condition wise,it might be worth keeping it original but part of me wants to respray it and put new stickers on :D The stem and bars will be resprayed but i'm going to try and save the original saracen stickers,if they can't i have a plan which might work.

Re:

Had a chance to give the Killi a good clean today and see if it had any nasty surprises and thankfully there's not a lot bad with it. The bottom and bracket and headset were removed easily enough and everything seems spot on in those areas. Apart from general wear and tear to the most common areas of paint and stickers, the only notable thing is a ding in the toptube on the driveside.
Cosmetically the forks are letting it down in the looks department, with areas having some bad scratches a bit of surface rust on the legs and the stickers are a bit worn. On the main frame the areas which need a touch of paint is the driveside part of the headtube and chainstay, stickers are in good condition just part of the competition sticker has worn away on the driveside.
The serial numbers on the BB are what looks to be a T then 8907 then on the otherside it's 0106. My guess is it's batch number 106 made in July 1989 or they just wanted to stamp a t and a 8 then denote the 907 as 90 for 1990 and the 7 for July. I'm not an expert on Saracen's so i'm just guessing with those  ,if anyone can decipher them that would be a good help.
Overall i'm happy so far with the little bit of progress just got to start getting all those parts looking clean and shiny again :D
I've taking a quick couple of pictures but the weathers a bit crap today so i'll get a few more done when it brightens up.

For the love of all things saracen don't respray the kili!

Lovely as it is

Don't worry that plan has been shelved  i'm pleased with the way it's looking after having a bath.

Any ideas for matching touch up paint?

Re:

Got the bottom bracket and headset fitted before i start the cleaning and polishing. The headset is a Shimano hybrid, top half's a Deore ll and the bottom is a Deore XT and i've used a Shimano un71 XT bottom bracket.

The Shimano 16 spoke wheels look quite good on it :)

Re:

Managed to catch the sun on it's brief visit today so got a couple more pictures of the Killi.
I'm going to be using a San Marco Rolls saddle which is one of my favourites. I'm going to use some leather cleaner to freshen it up and try some red paint on the writing. The XT seatpost i've had for a while but never noticed the writing is in black,so it must of been a silver or satin colour like a DX or XTR post. My plan is after polishing it is to trace the lettering off the one on my Explosif and some how to put it back on the post, will it work who knows  :)
The stem will need a respray but the Saracen lettering is fine so i might just mask over it.
