I've just acquired this and rode it for the first time last night.

First impressions are great despite the incredibly heavy Geax Datura mud tyres I have fitted.

Proper pics to follow if and when we get a dry day.

Any idea on the year anyone and has anyone any more info on the bike?

Re:

I've got a Pacific Cycles Mountain Expert, but not the e-stay one. Bit of info here, got bought out and accumulated with other bike brands by a private equity type group I seem to recall

not much other info that I could find when I looked when I first acquired mine. Reminds me I should update my thread/signature on it. I've run as single speed and with full gears.

Re:

I remember Pacific from the early 90s. A big store sold them, rather cheap. A neighbour back then had a similar ECS frame with tiny Shock absobers and Full XTR 900. However, most Pacific bikes available festured Altus, Tourney, etc. A company called Pacific bought GT (!) beginning of 2000s out of bankruptcy. No idea, if it was the same company.

Some long overdue pics.
