Well finally after 5 weeks the seat post is out :D

I am presuming it is the Ecstasy model as it is "653" but who knows, I am sure someone can fill me in?. And is it 90 or 91, something else I am not sure about, either way I am going to throw the pennies at this one (not that the others aren't costing a fortune either  ) and hopefully Argos will be able to re-create the paint job.
I did manage to salvage the wheels from it, and they are lovely Campag "Thorr" rims on black Deore II hubs and they have cleaned up to super clean standards. I have the NOS MIchelin Hi-Lites to go on them, but the search for everthing else begins.

Cheers.......Nick

Cheers Carl,

Edited accordingly. I see the. Graffiti had the same f&f but was LX specced although it is probably easier to harvest XT for it, so I think that is the way I will go.

Cheers....... Nick

I cant remember what the tubing difference was if any on the two models, the ecstasy was a lovely black with campagnolo.

Re:

Ahh..that's where this one went, great to see it here. I love the fact that is also has what looks like the original stem :D

FWIW the tubing is 653 AT and not magnum, not that there's much in it really. Mine also had a smattering of Deore II still fitted which would make it a 1989-90 model I guess? I ended up rebuilding with DX as it was easier to come by but M735 would have been the other option.

Here's my old thread in case it's useful in any way viewtopic.php?f=6&t=204213&hilit=orbit&start=10

Actually you are spot on, both frames were identical, both with 653atb, it was only the fork blades that used 653 magnum. the colours were the only difference I think,

would be a lovely build in black with campag..., and very cost effective to paint.

thinking about it, didn't it come in pink and grey for both initially, then black was reserved for the campag spec...?

I don't remember now, and Bills passed on, so I cant ask him for you either... :?

Re:

Nothing too exciting, but original wheels, with a few spokes replaced, all cleaned up with tyres to go: :D

Cheers.......Nick
