So... after buying this frame some time ago I thought it was time for a little love, something it turned out it hadn't had in far too long!
I have been doing a ground up restoration of this bike over the last few months. Finding the shocks broken when stripping down I decided to go the whole hog. Finding one damper shaft bent and the other snapped in two! also the mounting bolt had sheered off and been botched with miss matched parts and the bushes erm, bushed, I had the shocks sent to a machinist friend to work his magic.
The shocks have been stripped down, new shafts made, shock body refurbished 'one was ovalised', new seals, and bolts. New bushes machined and replaced pivot bolts. Springs painted and rear end polished.
The frame has been bare metal sprayed in a colour match blue (couldn't find the original code)
I was toying with the idea of building the bike up period correct, but that's really not my thing, so parts going on the final build are...

NOS Allsop Sofride stem
LX hubs with Syncros rims
Suntour Chainset
Suntour front/rear mechs
Suntour shifters
Suntour levers
Dia Compe cantis
Zoom Brahma bar
Ritchey seatpost
Ritchey seat
Ritchey tyres etc...
The bike will be finished by the end of the month and will be on show at Iconoclassic in August, if all goes well.
