Donohue 531 father of the unicorn.

Dirt Disciple
Just finished this late 80s Paul Donohue 531 bike. Its been owned by a friend since new and I have just renovated it for him.

I thought it would be of interest here as Paul built some of the fabled orange formulas. I think if you have a look at this frame closely it won't be too difficult to work out which ones he built.

Twin bottle bosses on the down tube, whishbone rear, recessed logo seat binder and 531 stem.

I have long maintained that this is by far the best handling MTB I've ever ridden. Hope you like it.

Re:

Very nice

Some nice little details on the frame.

Are those the original colours?

Would love to add a Donohue to the collection.

It is a modern version of the original colours, I had one with the opposite colour scheme. The logo isn't stamped its cut out of a sleeve and brazed into place.

Re:

Very nice!

Please add it to the British Steel thread :D

I'm sure Carl will be along in a minute.....

Re:

Great looking frameset  Just go to the British Steel thread here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=188154&start=750 and post up any information you have, along with the pics again.

I'm still waiting for the git who bagged the Max OR Donohue frameset last year to put it on show!
