1994 Marin Muirwoods

I did buy this bike whit out wheels from Whayne here in RBuk. Thanks man. He had already sold the seat and stem, but the stem sherlylock was kind to sell back to me, big thanks for that, and Whayne was kind to post it whit the bike. So I got a box, and this is what it had inside:

And I got to work, rear wheel on, stem on

then bar on as shifters.

The front wheel...

The I noticed something was not right in the rear....the rear wheel was not in center, closer inspection the rear wheel has 130mm spacing, not 135 :facepalm:
Ok, fortunaly I have a old wheel (from a 1991 Muirwoods) that I could get spacers from to respace the wheel to 135mm. the the rim needs to be redished...

I just have to say its a color combination I really like on this bike, The titanum like paint on the frame and the magic blue color on the fork, stem and bar. Lovely. Can´t wait to get it ridable and go for a ride a sunny day, but today its snowing, sadly.

Glad I re-united the stem with the bike now - it was too good to paint-strip and re-paint.....and the rest of the bike looks great! Really clean.

Finally got time to get it ready.
For the wheels, the DX/Regina Rally300 went to my "older" Muirwoods "splatter", this: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;t=321865, and the wheelset that came whit the "splatter" Deore hubs and Mavic/Regina rims whit Continental 2,0-26 RaceKing´s did go to this Muirwoods. And the just some grips and also did upgrade the brakes whit STX ones whit Shimano pads (takeoffs from the "Splattern".


Will test it like this, as this will be a bike that will be ridden as a MTB. New chain is on the wishlist. Might upgrade the transmission later, at least rear mech when I change the chain.

It has been in a sheed this winter, but as my HardRock sport freewheel broke last Thursday and did throw me over the bar, I think it will become my commuter bike...as my knee has healed.....no broken bones, but still a bad hit as it hit the tarmac...
