It lookst pretty small despite the 18" size, small enough for you?

Yes. It's my third 'dale with the 24" rear wheel and the 18" fit fine for me. There's a smaller 16" size but with front and rear wheel in 24". On other hand, in those times, seatpost were not very long. So, you choose what was considered bigger frame some years later.
The frame looks like bigger with the small rear wheel too
