I purchased this from the guy that built the pioneers for Overburys from 89 to 92.

He had built this for his missus at the time, and now 25 years later he was moving it on as she wanted something lighter and more upright

She was shocked to get anything for it.....

Had a really good chat about his time at Overburys, very interesting stories.
 
Must have halved the weight taking that 100gs chainset off of it :) , can't believe someone who built bikes would have put such a thing on a bike like that.
Should make a nice bike for the Mrs though.
 
The paint is okay, put not perfect. Cosmetically a refinish would be nice. But given the back story I will leave well alone for now.

Also the decals are nice and I've not seen this style much. Not sure if anyone else has?

So just a deep clean, and do something with the chips etc

Yep the chainset was gash.

I guess the build reflects the situation, so building the frame for your partner, probably more or less at cost, then kitting it out with whatever stuff you had knocking about for (presumably) a fairly light/casual user.
