Narhay's 1987 Mongoose Pro

I rescued this from a student's balcony where it had been languishing for 2 years last night. He, or the previous owner, was a serial stickerer...an offence which should be punishable by some sort of gulag.

The frame paint is not great...lots of scrapes and stickers but it is all there and straight. The components are the real gem.

A member was interested in the brake cable noodle for the stem cantilever attachment so here are some photos.

I purchased a 1996 Specialized Rockhopper with some nice XT and LX parts (SL-M732 thumb shifters, RD-M739 RD and Suntour XC-II pedals) and stripped the Mongoose. I spent quite a number of hours this past weekend cleaning the parts. Unsure if I'm going to rebuild or flog them on ebay.

Who put XC-II pedals on a '96 Rockhopper?!

I vote rebuild with the original XT!

I know, right? The bike was very well used though so it looks like the previous owner upgraded what he could when he could.

I have a wheelset 26" TM-810 F ARAYA with Parallax hub Shimano deore LX FH-M563 for 7-speed.
With tire`s orginal Panaracer Dart en Smoke 2.1 skinwall.











They where on mine Mongoose IBOC Pro sx from 1994,but have know another wheel set on the bike.
