It's a '97 model, I think. Bikepedia doesn't list any S-Works models for '96.

I know this because I recently bought a mystery dark blue Stumpy with both S-Works and Stumpjumper decals, which turned out to be a regular old '96 Stumphumper Comp FS .

No this is an 1997 model. According to bikepedia there was no mango colored S-works M2 in 1998.

Nice, I really love those S-works from that period.

97 would be right.
I bought a trek Y22 on the 28th Sept 95 and rode this for about a year and a bit before i broke it, the frame was replaced under warranty, however I bought this frame and transfered all the bits over and sold the Y frame.

The forks are 99. I have been thinking about upgrading the fork, but do not want to alter the geometry too much, was thinking 80mm would work ok, also thinking of going 9spd.

hey - nice ride. i have some of those cranks but cant find a bb for them - what length is your spindle?

cheers

Nic
