1993 Fat Change Yo Eddy

Old School Hero
I picked this up recently... 1993 Fat Chance Yo Eddy. In decent shape with no rust issues, seat tube appears intact inside and out :D and only some very minor dings. Dropped this off at Spectrum a couple days ago and expecting it back in ~4 weeks with a fresh coat of paint (not black). Going for aqua fade although part of me does think it would have been cool to be different, keep it metallic black, and load it up with black parts vs. the usual anodized p*rn bling

As for the build... Planning to throw a like-new XTR M900 groupset on it. Would like to source some blue ringle parts (seatpost, stem, cages, hubs, etc.) as I don't think any other color goes well with the aqua fade. If in doubt, go all out, right? Seat will be a flite as that's what I rode back in the day. Got a black answer taperlite bar, but would like to source a blue one.

Parts for trade:
Ringle cage, red, NOS in packaging - Trade for similar in blue
Answer Taperlight (Might be a hyper, I need to verify) bar in black. Not bad overall condition, no crimping, some scratching under the groups - Trade for blue in NOS condition (Will add cash)
Ringle zooka stem, 140mm, ahead - Looking for similar, but quill, blue, and shorter than 140!

Re:

Hi mate sounds awesome join the club :xmas-big-grin: think there is 4 or 5 us doing aqua fade builds :D they really do look good

Been loads of really nice YO builds recently and I'm sure this will be one of them ! Will look mega in aquafade .
Keep us updated :xmas-big-grin: .

After a 4.5 week wait I finally got the frame and fork back from the painter (Spectrum in Colorado Springs) today. Pretty happy with it so far. Now I just need to source a 29.4 Ringle Moby Post, a Ringle Zooka quill stem (1"), and a few other small parts. I've seen aqua fades built with blue and red ano parts but I think I might go all green, or do a mix of green (where the frame is blue) and blue (where the frame is green)... Decisions, decisions

Nice! I reckon stick with one highlight color of ano, and green ano looks horrid in every instance so make that blue, lol.

Very nice! This was the colour i saw on my first ever Yo - thought it was SO cool, though when I finally got one, it ended up being a Team Violet

Re:

Wow. Came out great. I have a Yo at Spectrum now. Here is a Ringle post in 29.4. It is silly expensive though. The 29.4 posts are quite a challenge to find. I paid an insane amount for a nos Syncros Titanium post in 29.4.

Maybe he will be willing to negotiate.
