Hi
So a visit to the local recyke a bike yielded a hardrock gsx for a tenner,she's not in greatest shape but frame looks decent,I'm thinking a singlespeed for this one?
Also had my eye on a lovely yellow trek but the alloy seat post was stuck,guys are going to try and get it out for me

Any idea what that plastic is for??

By "Plastic" do you mean the bracket on the seattube? if so it's a d-lock mount. The skewer looks pretty far gone but give it a clean and have at it with some Autosol and see how it goes. Best thing is to strip the bike down and clean and de-grease everything then see what needs replacing (the chain for instance should go in the bin :LOL: ).

Yeah the plastic looks like a bracket to hold a D-Lock.
Try wire wool on the q/r, followed by metal polish. It'll never be perfect, but should come up adequately.
Can't argue with that for a tenner!
 
Yeah didn't think of it being a lock mount,yeah for a tenner it should clean up nice,any wire wool do? How would you clean up the handlebar gunk? I need to get a pic up,think it's alloy not steel
