Orange Clockwork - White rebuild - FINISHED

A few pictures of a new build, new and exclusive to Retrobike!
This is as it was purchased from eBay for £23 a few months ago.

Taken me some time to get it going, but I spent £60 on a sandblast and respray at Armourtex. I think I remember seeing a picture of a white clockwork from JonnyBoy and thought it looked pukka, so settled for a white/black scheme myself.

Had a set of Pace R36's looking for a new home and think they look good on the white frame. I since discovered the 36's won't take canti brakes, which was a shame, as I'd bought a really nice set. But looks like it will have to be v-brakes. Not going to the expense of another set of Pace forks.

Re: Orange Clockwork - Rebuild - Black and White

Looking like a great start that mate :)

Just started a re-hash on mine, removed the m950 for another project, going with m900 now.
Here's a pic of my c16 :D

Re: Orange Clockwork - Rebuild - Black and White

Yes, almost sorted now. Just got a front mech and chain to get on and take it for a trial. Bought the narrower tyres by accident, meant to buy 2.1 but selected 1.9 instead - however, quite like the slightly sleeker look. Might make a good CX bike.

Re: Orange Clockwork - Rebuild - Black and White

All finished now and love it. Prefer it to my P7 I think, just seems a bit lighter and nimbler. Might be down to the suspension or the thinner tyres maybe, but really pleased with the way it's turned out. Yes . . . . I know, it's supposed to have cantilever brakes! but I didn't have the right bridges on the RC36s so it is what it is. Also turned the v-brakes to face forward, didn't like them facing rear - can't see any reason why they need to be. Apart from a spanking new saddle, the v-brakes and a 7speed cassette, everything is from eBay or RB.

Looks really tidy, I like the blend of retro and modern, could mistake it for a brand new bike.
