Old Dale Winton

Retrobike Rider
Picked up an older Dale frame overnight for $62 (plus shipping) - not dissimilar to the 88 model featured in our very own archive but with earlier graphics and fork. Seller believes it to be an 84 (SM600?) though. Need to source a biplane front fork and some beartraps now...

Anyone got an 84 catalogue or reviews to scan??

.

Looks like I'm gonna have to find me a 24" rear wheel too... :)

Judging by that 84 catalogue, Cannondale were heavily into the whole outddor thing! Love the guy with the banana shot...

Found some more source material to inspire the build, courtesy of First Flight and the folks at MTBR... :)

Nice...that really will be a labour of love.

Look forward to seeing it complete

For the date, look the number on the chainstay. You can know the month and the year it was made. You can have a look on vintagecannondale for more news.
1984 bikes are very rare. Perhaps it's a 1985 or 1986 frame. But not a lot of difference between them.

Here's my 1986 (and 1988…)…

for the rear dropout : A suntour WTB-Roller came brake !
You can't fix a shimano U-brake on it ! (I've got this problem with a 1988 C'dale frame with these dropout…)
