Just found the original invoice (pro forma) and owner's manual :-)
The invoice says "Sierra" but it's a "Sierra Grande"...
Notice also the famous BMX Lazer-Lite 3000 bought together... (that one, doesn't exist anymore :-)

Sweet you have become my favorite retro bike member finally some more info. Please post some more scans of the owners manual. You wouldn't happen to have a catalog would you? :D

I have a Sierra Xt in black with yellow forks and stays awaiting a rebuild. It's an 87 or 88

Thanks for all the information. I have the same bike with the yellow and black mottled paint job. With exception of a few small additons like a rear carrier, road/off road tires and water bottle holder I believe it all to be original. Bought it used about 25 years ago.
