Nice bike!

I know it is a colour in the 1996 catalogue but for me Backfire has to be on a 1990/1991 MC1-model.

Allthough the XTR 900 is not timecorrect you chose well because the XT737/XTR950 would not have looked that nice.

I would change the saddle to a Flite without stiching. The colour "up there" distracts too much from the beautiful frame. Also I would add some decals to the post to balance the white decals on the MC2 unit.

Hi

Yep was thinking the same about a black flite  The seatpost has the syncros decal on the back of seatpost
The build was not meant to be a timecorrect build but a build with some of my favorite retro parts from the past :D
Only problem is I have ended up building a damn Garage Queen  most parts were NOS and bike has not been riden yet
Now need to decide if to split and sell or just wait for it to rain and hit the trails and make it into a rider

That looks great Steve, I wondered where that bike ended up, you have been busy lately!
Swap the Flite out and your there I reckon.

As for riding, if your not sure, have it as a garage queen, one won't hurt will it?!

As Rahbari mentioned the forks and frame are a repaint by JonRock...
Thinking of now switching theXTR M900 Brakes to XTR M950 V Brakes and making it a rider ...
will also be switching the seat to an all black Flite ..
More pics to follow :)
