Just picked up this little beauty & i'm well-chuffed. I'm actually amazed that I didn't know these ever existed (or at least I don't remember them...). After quite a bit of research it seems that these are rare as rocking horse s#1t. I guess there were only a few made & most of them probably broke... This one's in remarkably good nick though. Time for a full resto...

Re: Pearson Kea (NZ made e-stay)

Interesting, a little industrial perhaps, but interesting.

There is a Pearson TT bike that looks similar in the road bike section.

Re: Pearson Kea (NZ made e-stay)

Could you show me the cable route for the mechs. Looks like they are going through the frame...

Re: Pearson Kea (NZ made e-stay)

Hey, I had one of those way back when.
The 1st one broke because they reputedly weren't heat treated post welding.
Can't remember how it rode sorry, nothing memorable

Made in queenstown, otago, nz

Good score, how the heck did you find it?

Re: Pearson Kea (NZ made e-stay)

we already spoke through PM but yes, indeed i had one also.
Bought mine new here in amsterdam,.. i think i was the only one in The Netherlands, never saw another one myself.
Mine broke after a crashing it heavily, that was not the problem of the bike but the driver,.. no other bike would have survived that one,..
I always liked the bike, rode it with a Vector fork, which was only just introduced back then,..
in combination with the frame it was a real head turner .
enjoy !
