So I think it's pretty much finished, front shifting is off as I believe I need spacers under the middle ring, the Hayes levers are mismatched and the wheels aren't exactly high-end enough for a KLEIN, but I think the overall effect is quite good.........

Frame:2000 KLEIN Mantra Comp size M (18")
Fork: Manitou Mars 1 80mm
Wheels: Alex TD17 disc-specific laced to black Deore disc hubs w/black stainless spokes
Crank: Race Face Next LP Carbon w/Aluminum exoskeleton ISIS drive on Race Face BB w/44/32/22 RF rings & blue KCNC bolts
Pedals: Syncros Mental stainless steel platforms
Shifters: Deore LX 9 speed
Ft.Der. Shimano LX
Rear Der. Shimano XTR
Brakes: Hayes Mags front - post mount, rear - 22mm direct chainstay mount
Stem: Race Face
Bar: Bontrager Crowbar
Post: ICON resrayed black with KLEIN 'circle-k' logos added
Seat:Flite titanium w/kevlar shoulders
Tires: Fire XC-pro kevlar bead
QRs Salsa Rasta flip-offs
Grips: ODI Ruffian Lock-on

It will eventually have (when $$$ allows) a rasta CK h/set and hopefully a 80-100mm Cattlehead, oh and a carbon XTR e-type front mech if I ever find one cheap enough!

retro smetro... what year is the cut off for a truly 'retro' ride anyway?

If it is bit out of the ordinary and some thought has gone into it then it's got my vote.

Trying to got your hands on 22mm hayes brakes is like searching for unicorn poo. I found some bloke on another forum had some for sale but he didn't like communicating, then some came up on e-bay but I missed them... then I just gave up and settled for a front disk only on my Y-33.
