The seat post was stuck so I have it cooking in caustic soda..

The wheels are in great shape, but im gonna rebuild it with some shimano lx hubs and mavic rims I've got in the shed.

Gotta get the seat post out first....

another to the home for retired foxes, hey MrG?

Although currently and desperately trying to thin the 'pack' a 19" U-braked explorer would find a place in my bed!

I love u-brakes. Nice tidy top tube.

Not sure if they were a good idea or not. Im guessing not since they stopped doing it.

Had to up the ante with the chemistry:

But it seems to be getting the job done, happy days.

I realise this is an old thread and mrgrumby hasn't visited for a while but did this work? I have a courier comp(same as the 2nd bike in pic )with the same issue. I'm really cautious as the paint is mint! I'm sooo peeeed off with myself as it did move free recently until I left it out in the rain

If it was moving until recently then there might be a gentler method that would work
