Purchased this early Sarcen Kili Flyer recently from Marmite King
In need of tlc
Keeping all of it original.
Remove and clean all components to high standard, replacing items if necessary.
What would be your expert advice on frame finish, keep it as is with some good old fashioned elbow grease.Or full on plastic coating job, keeping the original colour though.
Oh also looking for a Brooks Conquest saddle to complete

Nice to see a good, proper-sized bike.

Well worthy of some love and attention.

Very nice. 8)

Paint looks too good to strip it from what I can see in the photos so do what you can to look after it.
The thing with original paint is once it's gone, it's gone forever.

Where can I obtain the decals for the Saracen
Been working on the frame finish,it's getting better with patience and care.
Cotton cloth and duck oil works wonders on surface rust,it just lifts it out.
Some touching up will be needed for the underside of down tube.
Hopefully I can get a colour match
Iv'e a great feeling about this.looks like being a great rest project bike.
It has the original bike shop supplier decal, although worn, you can just make out the name
AG of Southampton.does this ring a bell.there are further details but difficult to make out.

Thanks coomber
Yes it does look great as is,but needs that TLC touch to bring it up to it's former glory.
Without drastic changes,to keep it original totally

You must be 8' tall...

I'm 6'1 but that would feel like riding a Penny Farthing to me!

Ok been working hard all through the weekend on the kili flyer
Major sirip down of all components
Wash scrub spit and polish for the frame/forks
Very fine wire wool on all components
Strip down of chainset,BB
Renovated Headset, new bearings and caps (period)
I must say it really looks the buisness now
Work left to do,Wheels/Scrub the tyres/Front brakes
Find a Brooks Conquest saddle
Some suitable pedals (any idea on model and type guys)

Hopefuly sourced some decals from Gil_m

Here are some photos as of now
See what you think
