I have a Wheeler 5900 from about the same era. Rode the hell out of it for well over a decade until I came off hard on the MTB track used for the Melbourne Commonweath games, which is just a few miles up the road from me. Bent a seat stay, so now it is retired, strapped to my mag trainer. It was such a good bike I couldnt bear to toss it, even though having bent it it was a dead cert to fail sometime soon!
