Marin Quake 9

Old School Hero
Hi,

Not sure if this bike is deemed a retro yet but I believe I purchased the frame around 1997 and have never seen another like it. It wasn't particularly light but it was a damn sight more comfortable then my Klein Attitude lurking around in the background, but then again acceleration on the Klein was like a rocket strapped to your frame.

Nice to see a mark 1 rear end still in tact! I went through several.

I do remember riding the demo bike back in 97. It sounded like riding a steel band! :D

there are still a few going around this part of Cornwall.

A fine riding bike if the sound of the twang of rocks n sticks doesnt put you off!

Do take care of it, its becoming rare now.

Cheers,Al

LOL, your absolutely right about the hollow twangy sound it makes when out on the trails, But its taken all the abuse and still come up trumps. The only really annoying thing about the build is the chain rub with the rear triangle when on the highest and lowest gear. Dont really want to get rid of the ti cassette or the white industries cranks.
