Took delivery today of my freshly painted Kili Flyer from Argos today (decals by Gil).

Frame is a Kili Flyer but I have chosen to have it painted as a Comp (hence the brackets). Got most of the components - mix of XT and DX, some NOS, some well used.

First retro build and luckily I work with kingroon so he will be leading the way to make sure I don't turn it in to an Eiger through cack-handed incompetence.

Re: 1989 Saracen Kili Flyer (Comp)

Did it used to be pink/purple? A fine riding frame with a longer top tube than the same model from a year or two later. I have both! Sounds like you have all the right stuff planned for it.

Re: 1989 Saracen Kili Flyer (Comp)

I think so....bought it from Saracen Steve (who had it shot blasted) and if I remember rightly he said it was 'pink'.

Just can't wait to get it built up :-D

Re: 1989 Saracen Kili Flyer (Comp)

Nice!! I watched this frame for ages and was soooo tempted!

I think the purple ones were sold year or so after the original blue ones in an 'up to date' colourway, presumably to shift old stock.

That is a super job on the frame - looking forward to seeing it built.

I've got a write up on one like this somewhere I'll dig it out.

I love all the detail on the frame from the lugs and brazing to the internal cable routing. Cracking paint job too
