GT Pantera - small. Updated - new Brakes and Forks .

Bullpup

I picked this up today, size 14.5". It seems remarkably under used, any idea of age please?

It has Stx / Stx RC through out. I must confess I went to see it hoping it had the decent wheels I need - which it doesn't, but I bought it anyway.

I was thinking about stripping it but it is too good for that and my son is now eyeing it up instead of his rockhopper. It may be too big though. I have some 2001 Judy Race forks which need brake bosses which I may fit but they are the wrong colour.

Any how pics:

Re: GT Pantera - small

It even has the original pretty well unworn grips.

After looking at other bikes here does 1996 seem about right?

Re: GT Pantera - small

That is lovely!

Unless my memory is failing me, it's definitely a '96. Nice going.

Re: GT Pantera - small

I saw this on Gumtree and they would not post :(

This was one of the deal of the days !

Great looking bike looking forward to seeing this

Re: GT Pantera - small

Well I won't upset you by saying that he dropped the price because a wheel was buckled!

Re: GT Pantera - small

Nice find!

I would keep the bike as it is. Please don't install those red and too young forks. If you sun insists on a suspension fork, find some nice Judy SLs in yellow here.

Re: GT Pantera - small

Well my son has really taken to this so his 13" Hardrock will be for sale soon.

He likes the idea of staying rigid - unless anyone has a Marzocchi canti adapter for sale?

In the interim how big a tyre will the frame take - I want something a bit bigger than 1.95? Will 2.3 fit or will a 2.1 be about the Max?
