Retrobike Rider
Just finished my Hirame road bike and my next project is a brace of Trail 531's from 1988-89.
We have had these since new but from 1999 until now the have been in semi retirement in France for use on holidays. The frames mainly mine one are starting to show signs of rust scabs which if left for much longer will start going terminal.
Due to the time limit I have 20th July this will be a strip down frame, sand blast, etch, prime and top coats with what paint I have to hand. Replacement parts will probably be cables as for the most part I have replaced components when needed ( B/Bkts, chains&cogs, R/h thumshifters for gripshift's, seat clamps & tyres) not much for 24 years old the bio pace chainsets haven't worn out yet so I can't justify getting those replaced unfortunately ( and now I hear new versions of them are being reborn, nothing like fashion!).
I will post progress when it happens now a photo or two.
