So I couldn't resist this somewhat neglected and much part-swapped hound today. The "eclectic" spec. includes stem and forks from a much older Kona ; Mavic MA40MB rims on Deore DX front ; Acera X rear hubs  and Tourney! TY22 canti's-about the only original bits I can see are front mech. ; seatpost and bars. On the plus side the frame itself is in OK shape ; paint excepted..
Not sure yet how it will end up ; catalogue spec. is a nice idea but will be difficult I reckon without breaking the bank.Any ideas/words of sympathy gratefully received!

Maybe ; but I didn't get it off ebay. The colour is indeed lovely ; metalflake kinda finish I just hope I can save it -- under all that tape on r/h chainstay theres a lot of paint missing.

That's kinda neat ; if not a bit scary looking at those wall thicknesses.. dare I ask how it got to be wall art?

I bought it off ebay in this state. This one really is a keeper- I love the colour, both inside and out! Looks great on my wall ;-)

Bit of an update then ; sorted for correct ( year anyway ; no P2 option on Kula originally) front end:

So I have a choice of 2 stems ; the Velocity is 10mm shorter than my ideal ; hence the CT.

And now for the owies ; overall the paint looks OK but a few key areas have had it I think:

Given the state of the last picture especially ; I think it will need fully stripping and refinishing ; so if anyone can suggest a paint match I would be very grateful.

That paint... ouch.

Still, a great project. Watching with interest. You are right, the wall thickness is VERY scary!
