I feel your pain brother... it looked a minter! I used to stare longingly at the SE2000 in the 1991 catalogue and if a good one comes up for sale I'll be all over it like a rash!

Gave the frame a final clean today and its now ready for the build :D ... Still waiting for the XT BB to arrive and I need to get polishing the cranks. So here it is.. still wet! I still can't believe the condition of the Beast; can't wait to get it fully built 8)

I looked at buying that but I think it would have been too big for me. I need an 18" I think in the BOTE sizing guide. Maybe one day..... :-(

Yours looks fantastic BTW, def a keeper!!

Rob.. how tall are you? I'm 6ft 4" and I could comfortably ride the next size up from this; so a 20" will also suit someone a good few inches shorter than me. I say that because I'll be selling the frame and fork of my retired SM800 in my sig below.

Yup an 18" would be better suited mate. They do crop up every now and then normally in the guise of the later M800 with the bigger headtube.

I love it in this color (existed in metallic green with gold too) 8)
(What a pity that Sella Italia used these ugly high rails on their flite… :? )

Nice duo!
Glad you could find your unicorn so soon.
That is a minty example you’ve got there.
Congrats!

I remember the green one.. it was called Jade green and it was a lovely rich metallic green. Haven't seen one in that colour since buying my original 22 yrs ago. Re: the Flite.. I was thinking of ditching it for a Turbo or I might keep it until a minty Vetta Gel comes up.. personally never been a fan of the Flite but its been knocking around in the garage for ages so I thought I'd put it to use.
