02/01/22. Rebuilt again, probably for the last time as it technically has a new owner as have traded it for something modern. Pics on page 3. Regret it will I (Yoda)?

13/03/13 Updated the build recently but not had a chance until now to update my build thread, so here goes:

Thomson stem (with a bit of rise for my creaking old back/neck) and seatpost added (replacing a stock post and a lovely x-lite stem)
Blue anno controltech bar added (replacing the use bar/bar ends)
Pace RC31 forks added (in place of the Pace RC38 Air Force II - keeping them in case I want to addd bounce later)
Brakes and levers swapped from XTR M952 to Avid Ultimates.
Hope head doctors used as lovely bar end plugs

And here are some updated pics and specs:

Love the Torus model think this build us going to be awesome :)

Re: Raleigh Dyna-Tech (Torus) - work in progress

Looking very classy.

Thanks for the close up of the cranks, I'm currently after some black chainrings for my RS7's.

Ian

Like that but the stems wrong... should have put that one you sold me on! :D

Could possibly see a blue Ringle on there or if your looking for more subtle, something like a silver Controltech.

I know what you mean. Initially I went for black post and stem, and it looked different/better, but my opinion keeps changing. I kind of like the idea of a Brit based build so may stick with it for now and see how it ends up and go from there, but keeping the bits I have put to one side, in case I change my mind.

Blue ringle would be the wrong colour, and I have 3 in various states of cracking so would prefer something made of stronger stuff. I could do silver control tech stem and post (with shim) and blue controltech bars and bar ends? I could almost do the same in black to I think. Initially I was going syncros.

I've a toted stem that might work - stem wise I need one that is fairly short as the steerer on the forks is not as long as I would ideally like, so need to have enough room for the clamp bolts.

Re: Raleigh Dyna-Tech (Torus) - work in progress

Has to have Canti's Ian, the redundant rear hanger always looks awful. Otherwise a really clean build. What they shpuld look like (Ex Team bike)

Re: Raleigh Dyna-Tech (Torus) - work in progress

I know the canti mount is redundant, but going with v brakes as I want a set of suspension forks that work ;)

Nice pics though, contemplated UGLI forks, but UGLI by name...... Imho anyway.

Would ideally like a hope headset in blue if I keep the Brit theme going, but not sure if one will be a snug fit.

I wish I could decide whether to stick with the Brit theme in silver finishing kit, or whether to throw on a ti or syncros stem, ti bars and a black seat post (syncros or Thomson).

Off topic slightly, why don't thomson do bars???

Re: Raleigh Dyna-Tech (Torus) - work in progress

The Ugli fork was the mega rare all Titanium version, was something like a silly 600g or so, I wish I still had the bike, but as usual was a size too large.
Stick with a Brit build Ian, but to be honest I think they used XT ahead, if you can find one? I;ve just managed to score another Ti' UGLI fork ,should be with me this week. :D

Re: Raleigh Dyna-Tech (Torus) - work in progress

I nearly got an UGLI fork myself, for shits and giggles? But decided not to in the end. I've got some rc30s, rc31s and some orange segmented forks I could use, speaking of use, I also have a set of use rigid forks I could try but will finish what I've started first as I've already chopped and changed too much already.

Aside from Paul's v brakes, are there any others that allow you to swap the noodle mount?

Re: Raleigh Dyna-Tech (Torus) - work in progress

Nice build and just the right amount of blue ano  . I agree with Ringo and think the stem looks a bit out of place but then they did use these on the team bikes so its kinda right if you know what I mean. Another option for the stem and also keeping with the British theme is Pace.

What year is the frame? Mine has a F serial number which I believe indicates 1996...

Something like this you mean? - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=91740 Nice bars but I don't think they'd suit this build ;)
