I thought that you might be interested in seeing some 'blurry' pictures of my old GT Zaskar - unfortunatley these are all I have as I sold it over 10 years ago.. although I wish I hadn't now of course!

I used this bike for two racing seasons, having spent an inordinate amount of time and money building it up over the summer / winter of 1995/1996. In all, I spent the best part of £2,600 building this at the time...

I took part in the BMBF, NEMBA and local MEMBA MTB events racing in the Sport Category. My wife competed on her own Zaskar in the Expert Category and rode for a sponsored MTB team called Double A Cycles. They were the days!!

Great minds think alike.

I built a Zaskar LE to a very similar spec in 94 /95 / 96. I could not afford Pace forks, but chose Shocktech (imitation Pace) forks instead. These were later replaced with Marzocchi XC700's.

Fortunately, I still have mine, although I have recently had to rebuild the forks and replace the Hope front hub when some over enthusiastic riding on rocky downhill trails proved too much for them both.

Yes, I had Shocktech forks before the Pace... My wife was actually sponsored by them too!

I still have my Shocktech's, but the elastomer has turned into a green goo puddle at the back of my bench.

Ahhhh the good old dayz

Those photos are pure 90's porn!
Gotta say compared with modern digital snaps they're crap. . . .
But we just somehow excepted that as normal, and were content to be able to take
just a dozen or so and then wait a week to get them back via the post

That front rim is something else,
How many stickers did you stick on it?

Very similar to mine from back then too - I had blue Hope hubs, red Toplines, early Hope hydraulic disc up front and as much anno as I could lay my hands on.
