It's decided: I'm gonna bring it back to life !
Actually, I 'm the first owner. I've bought it new in 96... That was a real beauty... Ringlé hubs, aheadset, quick releases, Titec Titanium handelbar, XTR, Flite Titanium,...
Today I was watching the frame... So dirty... So sad... Just asking me: please, take me back to life ;-)
And it's exactly what I' m gonna do ! It should take a few weeks... And I'm gonna show you the adventure :-)
Here is my frame today :-\

Here is the first step: I'm gonna remove the stickers and perfeclty clean the frame.
After that, here is what I've just bought today on eBay UK... :-)

Mine too. Always fancied a Manitou so it'll be interesting to see the progress.

Anothter 1997 like mine.

Watching this with interest!.

The 1997 Manitou really is a lovely frame, its a shame your losing the Stylised "Answer" decals with the all black ones..

Here is how it is today:
I've removed the decals, cleaned the frame. I've placed my 92 Flite Titanium on it, one of the original V Brake Booster.
I've ordered a 94 Rock Shox Mag 21 wich is in a great shape.
I have to fix a tiny crack...
The rest of the parts are ready: 95 Shimano Carbon V Brake Booster, 96 XTR rear derailleur and shifters, Race Face stem, crank and handlebar, 96 black Answer Hyperends and 96 XT V brakes.
And finally, add the new decals. 8)

To be continued...
