Just got this today, in a poor state - want to remove the b/b and then strip and repaint black again, with repro decals and who knows what else

This should be a nice build, quick question for any GT guru out there !

Why did the Richter sometimes have the 8.0 and some did not? was this an american version that had the 8.0? It's not like you see many for sale anyway.

I bid on that one Matt as it was only a few miles away. Only went up to £2.07 though! I had one a few years ago with a bent frame which I broke for parts. DX all round I think.

I was thinking of bidding on that as I do like the Richter's.....

Does it have a matt or satin finish?

Identical frame to your 92 Karakoram Rob.

Duh ... ..... Somehow never noticed that before. I think the Richter was sold exclusively with suspension forks, but otherwise appears to be same bike with quieter paint.

Nice bike. Always been on my short list, as is the Kara.

They converged in '92 and then went their separate ways in '93.

Making me think I should have kept that '92 Karakoram now, so that I had a complete True Temper frame to go with the Tange MTB DB one and the 'hybrid'.

Maybe I'll pick up a 20" at some point.

Anyway, sorry for hijacking - back to the Richter!

What state are the forks in? Are you keeping them?

A bonus of the toned down Richter paint is that it's possible to repaint them. My '93 will be off to be repainted "Ferrari Red" in the new year.
