Managed to Finish building a CFM1 Frame i had gotten a while back.

It joins my 1992 CFM1 which i also modified by putting an original Giant Cromoly fork on.

The newer 1994 is a bigger frame and had hard time getting a suitable fork for it, eventually i ended up settling for a generic Cromoly chromed fork made in Taiwan.

Both Bikes are full XTR M900.

Thanks Martin,

Apologies for not including you in the initial post as I was intending to edit my initial post, looks like you beat me to it.

Without you this project would have never taken off. Considering that you provided me with the frame and most of the XTR M900 components.

1994 CFM1 Specs:
Frame: 21" Carbon Fiber bonded to Aluminum lugs.
Fork: Chromoly big fork (230mm steerer)
Rims: Trek Matrix Single Track 32h
Tires: Maxxis Detonator Slicks 26x1.25
Seatpost: Control Tech
Saddle: Vetta Kevlar
Stem: ITM Ergal Tomahawk 6061
Handlebar: Easton Hyperlite uncut.
Grips: To be decided most probably ESI chunky grips in Blue.
Full XTR M900 group set including Headset and seat post quick release.

The 92 CFM1 came originally with RockShox Mags and the white stock Alloy handlebar that was cut too short for my liking by the previous owner.

The front suspension leaked oil and for lack of resources where I am, elected to go Rigid with the original fork.

1992 CFM1

Seatpost: Kalloy Stock
Saddle: Vetta Gel
Stem: Chromoly Stock
Handlebar: Peregrine Carbon Fiber
Grips : possibly ESI Chunky silicone grips
Full XTR M900 Group set including Headset.
Seatpost quick release: stock Kalloy
Pedals: Shimano Deore XT ( last generation before going SPD)

I would Also like to thank:

Nice ensemble :) Was the tall one an US specific model?

Hello Melvin,

I doubt if it was a US model only, the color is one of the less common among CFM models. Have seen similar model on here in Australia.

Maybe Martin has a better idea.

Tall one was a US bike originally. I've seen and actually had others just like it. Not too many of those around, more of the lighter greenish ones.
